Another initiative of Queen's Park Trust has been to work with some local eateries to join our 'Ethical Eateries Scheme'.

Any local cafes or restaurants that are carrying out particularly ethical schemes that we are aware of, will be featured on here.

Panella

As part of the North Kensington Community, Giuseppe and Catarina run a People's Kitchen out of the Goldfinger Factory. With produce sourced from the Queen's Park Farmers Market on a donation basis, the meal is an opportunity for people in the surrounding area to come together over fresh, organic food. Cooking begins from 3 PM with the meal starting from 6 PM onwards. The event is entirely free of charge and open to the public. If you'd like to volunteer, please get in contact with them!

The People's Kitchen: On the third Sunday of every month from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, the restaurant hosts a community meal for North Kensington residents

 

The Exchange

This vibrant hub is powered by the North Paddington Foodbank. It features an inclusive, donation-based café run by refugee-led Haven Coffee.

Granville Community Kitchen

Granville Community Kitchen empowers the community through food related activities enabling the South Kilburn community to access nutritious, affordable and sustainable food. They reach out to marginalised people in the community such as those with long term health conditions, learning disabled adults and those experiencing hunger and food insecurity.

They serve community meals with tea and coffee and also play card games and generally take time to sit and chat.

Kensal Rise Repair Café

A voluntary organisation, supported by the Brent Together Towards Zero programme who awarded a Grant to help fund the start up.

The café operates on a principle that everyone has something to teach and something to learn. Whether you're a skilled craftsperson or someone who has something that needs to be fixed, you're welcome.

People bring their broken or worn items to the Repair Café, and volunteer repairers help them to mend their things, teach repair skills, or give advice on what can be done. Visitors pay for any necessary parts and are asked to make a donation to the Repair Café running costs.

Bringing the community together to repair, learn, and reduce waste. Join for tea, coffee, light refreshments and sustainable living.

Laurence's Larder

Laurence’s Larder is non-referral and open to all. Every week they offer a food parcel, clothes bank, sit-down hot meal, community activities, and access to support services.

Jojay's Community Lunch Club

JoJay's Community Lunch Club is a popular, volunteer-run pop-up café in London that serves freshly made, healthy, plant-based hot meals to bring local residents together. Completely plant-based menu that changes every month using fresh ingredients. Special themed meals are served occasionally, such as Caribbean menus featuring rice and peas, plantain, callaloo, and channa dahl.

Usually held on selected Thursdays from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm (or 2:00 pm), with doors opening at 12:00 pm.

Eat-in or take away only £3.00 per meal and a piece of fruit. Homemade reduced sugar cakes also for sale only £1.50. When available they are funded as a free community lunch for all residents by Peabody Community Fund.

Managed by local organizer Sandy, the club serves as a social hub where neighbours chat, share local history, and reduce isolation.

Meals can be eaten in or taken away. It operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

It’s simple! After you sign up, every week they order seasonal, organic fruit and veg from growers throughout the UK and Europe as well as adding what they grow locally in South Kilburn, pack it into our tote bags ready for you to collect at your pick-up point of choice!

We have a unique pricing model where you pick one of 3 price tiers, according to what you can afford. Also pick according to culture and a convenient local pick up point including a lock box outside the Beethoven Centre.

Emmanuel Food Pantry

If you become a member, you will pay just £5 each time you visit, and in return you can access food worth far, far more - typically saving £27 a week. You’ll always find a wide selection, including fresh, frozen and long-life options, fruit and veg, family favourites and non-food essentials.

This is one of 120 Pantries all over the UK. They’re amazing places! Pantries bring people together around food, soften the impact of high living costs, reduce your shopping bills and give people some much-needed financial wriggle room. They’re also places for local people to meet and chat, lighten the load together, and share ideas that can start making change happen.
