Viewed from Ladbroke Grove Bridge, the canal appeared calm and generally clean in both directions. The green-grey water had moderate clarity, with strong reflections of the surrounding trees, buildings and cloudy evening sky.

Very little floating litter was visible, and there were no obvious signs of foam or surface pollution. Looking west, a solitary waterbird created expanding circles of ripples across the otherwise still water.

The canal was exceptionally calm during this early-evening visit, creating clear reflections of the surrounding apartments, trees and colourful moored boats.
Soft sunlight breaking through the clouds added a warm glow to the water and highlighted the peaceful character of this urban stretch.
The moored narrowboats, waterside homes and colourful wall art also give this section a distinctive urban canalside character.
These two photographs capture a quieter, greener section of the canal beside the residential buildings. Mature waterside trees, including a large overhanging willow, soften the built-up surroundings.
A small amount of scattered natural material—mainly fallen leaves—is visible, but there is no significant accumulation of rubbish and no obvious foam or oily pollution.
The photo shows a calm, narrow section of canal bordered by buildings, moored boats and established marginal vegetation. The still water creates strong reflections, while gentle ripples suggest only limited movement. The water appears green-grey with moderate clarity. There is more surface movement here than in the previous photographs, with gentle rippling extending across most of the canal.
